Testing to Industry Standard D2240
posted July 2016With the purchase of a new Rex Gauge Type M Durometer, MEE has expanded its service capabilities for testing to industry standard ASTM D2240, Standard Test Method for Rubber Property—Durometer Hardness
The durometer is the international standard for the hardness measurement of rubber, plastic and other non-metallic materials. The Rex Type M durometer can be used when checking materials thinner than 1/4″ (as thin as .050″).
The operating stand we use with the durometer has a dampener which lowers the durometer at the same rate for each test, resulting in superior test repeatability.
